Ernest Edward “Satch” Saltalamacchia Jr. will be remembered affectionately by his children, grandchildren and wife Marnee (Ennis) Saltalamacchia. He went to the Lord peacefully on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024.
Born in Brookline, MA on December 29, 1952, he was the son of the late Ernest Edward and Barbara (Kelley) Saltalamacchia.
Eddie was the adoring father of Mona Saltalamacchia of Dedham, MA, Anthony Saltalamacchia and his wife Rina of Wareham, MA, Edward Saltalamacchia and his wife Lauren of Hollis, NH and Robert Saltalamacchia of Westerly, RI. As “Papa”, he will be dearly missed by his cherished grandchildren: Nicholas, Bobby, Jack, Gia, Louie, Francis and Betsy. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. He would boast about them to everyone.
Satch is survived by his devoted brother, Robert A. Saltalamacchia, of Taunton, MA. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul D. Saltalamacchia. He also leaves behind his niece Angela, nephews Mario (Brenda) and Gianni (Katie) Saltalamacchia and their mother Nancy.
He will be missed by his in-laws (and their families) John, Patrick, Bill (Nelia), Joe (Marisa) and Erin Ennis and Jill Kimball.
He felt truly blessed to have Uncle Dom & Aunt Paula and Aunt Jan Saltalamacchia as well as his mother-in-law Jane and her late husband John Ruchalski in his life.
Satch was a graduate of Brookline High School. He was a member of the Varsity Hockey team and played in the State Championship 1970 Brookline vs. Needham game. A lifelong sports fan, he followed the Bruins, Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics. And, for over a decade he delighted in a family Fantasy Football league.
Ed loved basements. He founded his own NH basement waterproofing business (Wet Basement Solutions) in 2003, which also allowed him to be a stay-at-home dad for his youngest son Robbie. After moving to Millis, MA in 2013 he started Foundation Crack Seal. Most recently, he was a salesman for Pioneer Basement Waterproofing of Westport, MA.
Eddie was a friend and confidant to many. He always made time for others to listen, tell a story and laugh with them. He was proudly 29 years sober.
