HODGKINS - Elaine (Barton), of Westwood and Farmington ME, died August 12, 2014. Beloved wife of Paul S. Hodgkins for 67 years. Loving mother of Charles Hodgkins and his wife Debra (Wholley) of Attleboro and the late Ellen Marie Hodgkins. Devoted grandmother of Charles Michael and Kelsey Ann Hodgkins.

Elaine graduated from Farmington High School Class of 1942. She then pursued her dream to be a nurse by enrolling in Nursing School at Maine General Hospital, Portland, Maine. After graduation in 1946 she worked at the Farmington Hospital. On June 16, 1947 she married Paul S. Hodgkins and they moved to Boston, MA. She continued working in area hospitals until her retirement at age 65. Elaine was a devoted and loving wife, mother and nana. She loved to play cards, bingo and the slots at the casino. After retirement, winters were spent in Florida. She was very close to her high school classmates and was the spark that got the classmates together every five and ten years. Elaine will be missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St. (off Route 109) Westwood on Sunday August 17 from 2-5pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Monday morning August 18 at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St., Westwood at 10am. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elaine's memory to the Massachusetts Chapter for Cystic Fibrosis, 220 North Main St., Suite 104, Natick, MA 01760.
