BERO, Eileen A. (O'Flaherty), of Westwood, died October 13th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of the late Dr. George L. Bero. Loving mother of Deborah Bero and her husband Osler Peterson of Medfield, Sheila Thornton and her husband John of California, Cynthia Bero and her husband Shawn Farrell of Medfield, Susan Perry and her husband Francis of Medfield, G. Lawrence Bero Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Foxboro and Stephen Bero of Hopedale. Devoted grandmother of Ryan, Meghan, Frankie, Larry, Molly, Michaela, James, Jack, Kristen and Katie. Sister of Jean Crossen of Plainville and the late Richard O'Flaherty and the late Rev. Edward O'Flaherty SJ. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood on Friday Oct. 21st from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning Oct. 22nd in St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St., Westwood at 10am. Interment with military honors at New Westwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eileen's memory to Friends of the Nurses Health Study, Channing Division of Network Medicine, 181 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115 or visit www.nurseshealthstudy.org and click on the "Donations" link.

Trained as a nurse, Eileen served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and was a WWII Veteran. Eileen later continued to serve in her community as a volunteer at Norwood Hospital and a member of that hospital's Board of Trustees.
