Dorothy Ann Conley passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was 83 years old.
Born on March 28, 1942, in Boston, Massachusetts, Dorothy graduated from Mission High School in 1960. In 1967, she married David Conley. Together, they moved to Westwood, where they built a loving home and raised five children. Dorothy and Dave maintained a loving and supportive marriage until Dave’s passing in 2004.
Dorothy was a devoted mother to her five children, always there to assist help them, she was a big supporter of all the sports they played and brought them up in religious faith. A devoted grandmother to her seven grandchildren, always there to share her love, knowledge and guidance, help them grow into happy adults. A woman of deep faith, she was a longtime member of St. Margaret Mary Parish in Westwood, she was known for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering commitment to her family and community. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, a cup of tea, and walking one of her beloved dogs. She was an avid radio listener, loved to dance, and be silly and playful with her kids and grandkids. She always impressed upon her family to be kind and to help others and she was known to many for her hospitality and generosity. Dorothy’s legacy lives on in the love she gave and the lives she touched.
She is survived by her children David Conley, his wife Inna Conley of Watertown, Ellen Modi and her husband Biren Modi of Westwood, Brian Conley and his wife Lisa Conley of Boston and Theresa Conley and her husband John Murret of Denver; her cherished grandchildren Owen, Patrick, Lila, Tara, Shay, Elliot, and Emilia, her siblings Helen, Catherine, and Thomas, and her dog Ladybug. She is predeceased by her beloved husband David and her son Jeffrey Conley (Helen Conley).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood on Sunday September 21st from 2-6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday September 22nd in St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St., Westwood at Noon. Interment following the Mass at New Westwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Maryknoll organization.
