Daniel “Dan” Sheehan passed away peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by the love of his family.
Dan was the devoted husband of his beloved wife, Christina, and a proud and loving father to Daniel and his wife, Faith; Michael and his wife, Kelly; and Courtney and her husband, JJ Jackson. He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Dorothy, and his sister, Linda, and her husband, James O’Brien. He is survived by his sisters, Janice and her husband, David Froment, and Deborah Sheehan. Dan was a beloved brother-in-law to Mary and James Morris; the late Eileen Joyce and her partner, Stephen Jacobs; the late Thomas Joyce and his wife, Jo Ann; Theresa Norberg and her husband, William; and Michael Joyce and his wife, Christine. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Nothing brought Dan greater joy than his family. He was a cherished grandfather to Zoë, Maddox, Beckett, Sadie, Nico, Lila, Myles, Julian, Zayne, and Asher. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren, took immense pride in watching them grow, and rarely missed an opportunity to attend their sporting events, celebrating each of their accomplishments with quiet pride and unwavering support.
For more than 30 years, Dan dedicated his career as a lineman with Boston Edison. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to help others. Whether on the job or at home, Dan had an incredible ability to build, fix, or repair just about anything. He was happiest when working with his hands, and some of his proudest projects were transforming and finishing his children’s basements, creating warm and welcoming spaces where family could gather and make lasting memories for generations to come.
An avid golfer, Dan found great happiness on the golf course. At Southport on Cape Cod, where he enjoyed his second home in Mashpee, golf was more than a pastime for Dan—it was a source of friendship, laughter, and community. He treasured the many friendships he formed there and looked forward to the camaraderie shared both on the course and throughout the neighborhood. Whether enjoying a round of golf, lending a helping hand to a neighbor, or simply spending time with friends, Dan embraced the welcoming sense of community that made Southport such a special part of his life.
Dan never sought recognition or praise; he showed his love through his actions. He was a man of quiet strength, steady presence, and unwavering integrity who always put his family and others before himself. He will be remembered for his generous heart, humble spirit, and the example he set through hard work, kindness, and selflessness. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
