Daniel W. Hussey, 88, formerly of Wells, ME passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday June 23, 2024. He was born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts to the late Margaret E. (Bulger) and Daniel A. Hussey. Beloved brother of the late Margaret E. Hussey. Devoted husband of the late Anne Collard Hussey. He was blessed to have had six children with former wife Janet (Poillucci) Hussey. Darlene and her husband, Bill Green, of Walpole, MA, Daniel Paul and his wife, Pam (Grant) Hussey, of Blackstone, MA Christopher and his wife Julie (Donohoe) Hussey, of West Roxbury, MA, Janet and her husband, John Pioccone, of Dedham, MA, Judy and her husband, Patrick Kelly, of Norwood, MA, Catherine and her husband Daniel Kane of Medway, MA. He was a doting grandfather to his 18 grandchildren and their spouses: Katrina, Erica and Beth Green, Christopher and Kevin Hussey, Matthew, James, Timothy and Luke Hussey, Joshua and Hannah Pioccone, Sarah, Amanda and Patrick Kelly and Tyler, Alex, Max Finn and Jonathan Kane and 8 great-grandchildren Kelly and Derek Jimenez, Matthew and Madeline Green, Wilder Hussey, Ryan Hussey, and Olivia and Jacob Hussey. He was also a keen animal lover and his many grand-dogs and cats brought him great joy. He is also survived by his extended family and countless friends, especially those from his community in Maine and New Hampshire who he was incredibly bonded with.  

At the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Marines and served in both Korea and Japan until his discharge 3 years later. He was very proud to have served his country. Upon his discharge from the military, he went to school for the repair of televisions and worked for Sears Roebuck and Co., while also having his own business. Everyone called him Dan the TV man. Many times, he would bring his kids along for the ride or even just to help out. He relocated to Wells, ME with his wife, Anne, for the later decades of their lives. After the death of his wife Anne, he moved to Wrentham, MA to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his humor, loyalty, and generous nature by all who knew and loved him.  

Visiting hours will be on Friday June 28 from 4pm-7pm at the Holden Dunn Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock Street, Westwood MA. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 29 at 10AM in St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St Westwood, MA. 

Burial with Military Honors will be on later date at the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery Springvale ME.
