Bigelow--- Curtis B. of Westwood, September 17, 2010. Beloved husband of Florence (Fontana) Bigelow. Loving father of Curt of Orlando, FL and Debbie Barnett of Braintree. Devoted “Grumpy” of Brian and Kyle of Braintree. Father-in-law of Richard Barnett of Braintree. He was the son of the late George and Florence Bigelow. Brother of George (Reese) Bigelow and his wife Jacqueline of Westwood and the late Elaine (Bigelow) Higgins and her husband the late Alan Higgins of Nova Scotia, Canada. Brother-in-law of Elena Fontana and her husband the late Frank Fontana of Milford. Curt is also survived by many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Curt was a lifelong resident of Westwood. He graduated from Westwood High School in 1944 and immediately after graduating joined the U.S. Army and served in the Battle of the Bulge. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He attended Boston University, graduating in 1957 with a degree in Management. An employee of New England Telephone/Verizon for 35 years, he worked in both the sales and computer systems departments before becoming staff manager of the Training and Education Department at the Marlboro Learning Center. He retired in 1988. In his retirement, he worked daily at his daughter’s private physical therapy practice, Rehab Specialist in Quincy.

Funeral from the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home 55 High Rock St. Westwood (off Route 109) on Monday Sept. 20th at 10:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Margaret Mary Church at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00pm. Interment New Westwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a gift to the Westwood Dialysis Center, KTDA, 90 Glacier Drive, Westwood, MA 02090 would be greatly appreciated. The Center took great care of Curt for almost 5 years, and he truly loved and appreciated them all.
