Claire Marie Walsh

Claire M. (Gurnon) Walsh of North Kingstown, RI, formerly of Westwood, MA died June 15, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.  She was 91 years old. Beloved wife of the late Francis X. Walsh, loving mother of Francis P. (Amy) of Tucson, AZ, Dennis M. Walsh (Janet) of Dallas TX, Maryanne C. Bond (Neil LaBove) of North Kingstown, RI and Richard P. Walsh (Michaela) of Mansfield, MA.  She is also survived by 10 loving grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving niece and many nephews.  She was sister to her three brothers, Edward (Margaret), Paul (Dorothy) and Robert (Ann) who have all predeceased Claire.

Claire was a wonderful mother and a fantastic cook. She worked as a medical secretary for many years and retired at 78 years old. She attended Mass daily and was devoted to the Blessed Mother. She enjoyed life, loved to dance and to entertain.  She loved all four seasons and especially a good snowstorm.  She kept lifelong friends from Boston to Florida and many states in between.  She would stay in touch through the years though separated by miles and loved to chat on the phone.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation in the Holden, Dunn & Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood, MA on Monday morning June 26^th from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Margaret Mary’s Church, 845 High St., Westwood, MA at 11:00 AM. Interment at New Westwood Cemetery.
