Carole A. (Hayes) McDonald

McDONALD - Carole A. (Hayes) of Norfolk, formerly of Westwood, died peacefully and surrounded by love on June 10th 2016. Beloved wife of Stephen E. McDonald. Loving mother of Tracy Smith and her partner Michael Casey of Uxbridge and Kerrin Moser and her husband George of Bellingham. Devoted grandmother of Kyle Moran, Morgan & Garrett Smith, and Mason & Ian Moser. Loving sister of Jack Hayes and his wife Jean of Walpole, Richard Hayes and his wife Kathy also of Walpole, and Ellen Nashawaty and her husband Tom of Dennis. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Carole graduated from Westwood High School in 1959, where she was the Head Majorette. After marriage she dedicated her time to raising her children, volunteering at the town library and at St. Jude Church. Carole loved ice skating and taught at local rinks. When her daughters got older, she became an administrative assistant, retiring after 20 years. Carole had a great sense of humor and a deadly laugh. She was kind and selfless, always putting others before herself. In celebration of her life, relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood on Tuesday June14th from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning June 15th at 11:30am in St. Jude Church, 86 Main St., Norfolk. Interment at New Westwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Carole's memory to her daughter, Kerrin's 2016 Pan Mass Challenge ride, where 100% of donations go directly to Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
