Hanlon, Brendan J. "Dusty" of Providence, RI formerly of Westwood, MA died unexpectedly on Friday June 3, 2022. Beloved husband of Karen (McCarthy) Hanlon. Cherished father of Ainsley and Connor and the late Declan Hanlon. Dearest son of the late Paul R. and Mildred E. (Rautenberg) Hanlon of Westwood, MA. Adored brother of Paul E. Hanlon and his partner Darlene Ferroli of Hillsborough, NH, Mary E. Hanlon and her husband Brian Hart of Wareham, MA, the late Elaine M. Hanlon of Providence, RI, Sandra J. Parlon and her husband, Mark of Norton, MA, Mildred G. Kilburne and her husband Bruce of Norfolk, MA, Amy L. Hanlon and her wife, Julie O'Brien of South Yarmouth, MA, and Peggy S. Hanlon and her first mate, Joe Sucharewicz of Westwood, MA. Son in law of John T. and the late Ruth Ann (Collins) McCarthy of Revere, MA. Brother-in-law of Kerri and her husband, Brett Rudy of Wakefield, MA, John and his wife, Carryl McCarthy of Newton, NH, Patrick and his wife, Jennifer McCarthy of Peabody, MA, and Colleen Botte of Everett, MA. Outstanding uncle of many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Brendan was the youngest of sixty-eight Hanlon grandchildren.


Brendan is a graduate of Westwood High, class of 1990, and a proud alumnus of Providence College, class of 1994. He was a Vice President, Performance Advisor at Merrill Edge in Cumberland, RI.


Brendan was an avid sports fan of the Providence Friars, and all Boston sports, with a special affection for the Bruins. Brendan was very proud to have earned his black-belt in Tae Kwon Do. He loved entertaining his family and friends by creating brackets on social media. But Brendan's world revolved around his wife and kids; spending all of his free time with them. He could not have been more proud of their accomplishments, large or small.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood on Sunday June 12th from 2-5pm. The family requests that all guests attending the wake wear a mask. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning June 13th at 10am in St. Denis Church, 157 Washington St. Westwood. Interment at New Westwood Cemetery. Brendan's family has established a college fund for Ainsley and Connor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Sandra J.
