Betty Lee (DeGanne) Klobucher passed away, at the age of 90, on Monday, October 7 at her New Pond Village residence in Walpole, MA after a long and happy life. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Francis Klobucher for over 71 years.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Virginia Lee (Ginny Klobucher) Hussey and her husband, Stephen Cooper Hussey of Holliston, MA, and her son, Robert Francis (Skip) Klobucher Jr. and his wife Lisa Ann (Lantagne) Klobucher of Lowell, MA.
She was sister to June Fabrizio, Shirley Stone and David DeGanne and the late Joseph DeGanne, Helen Stanley and Edward DeGanne.
She was “Nana” to her 6 grandchildren, Amee Hussey, Emily (Hussey) Smith, Robert Klobucher III, Marguerite Klobucher, Theresa Klobucher and Bryan Klobucher. And she was “Aunt Betty” to many loving nieces and nephews.
Born during the Depression in 1934, she grew up in Holliston, MA in a large family of 9. Graduating from Holliston High in 1952, she married Robert Klobucher in December of that year at the age of 18.
She went on to graduate from the Kenneth School of Beauty in Framingham in her late 20’s, and became a professional hair stylist at the Newbury Salon in Dover, also seeing clients at home. She worked as a bank teller in Wellesley and Walpole and spent many years as a bookkeeper for InMetal in Norwood and Klobucher Trucking in Dover. Her reason for being, though, was never in doubt. She took the greatest pride in being a wife, mother and homemaker for her family of 4.
She and Bob enjoyed traveling all over the country in their motorhome which brought them to eventually settle in Holiday, Florida for 6 months every year. They absolutely loved the “Snow Bird” life. But the Dover home, on the hill, remained their foundation for 70 years.
Services are to be held on Saturday, October 19, beginning at 10 am at Highland Cemetery in Dover and continuing at 11 am at the Dover Church, 17 Springdale Ave., Dover, MA. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Lung Association. (www.lung.org)
