Barbara Welch Solomon, age 83, died on September 7, 2023, after a brief illness. Barbara leaves her children, Mark Solomon and his wife, Brenda, and Todd Solomon and his wife, Kerry; her grandchildren, Justin, Eric, Will, Owen and David Solomon. Survivors also include her sister, Claire Welch Cormier, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, William Welch and his wife, Angela, and her brother-in-law, Jerry Cormier.
Barbara was born on November 26, 1939 in Malden, MA, and was a long-time resident of Burlington, MA and North Fort Myers, FL. She graduated from Malden High School and furthered her education in Accounting and Library Sciences at Bentley College and Northeastern University. Barbara served as a librarian in the Burlington Public Schools and as an accountant at Nu Graphics. An avid family woman, Barbara especially loved her close and extended family. She enjoyed knitting and crafting blankets that she gifted to many. Barbara was a holiday enthusiast and always arrived dressed for the occasion with a plate of cookies. She faithfully followed the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox and enjoyed watching the games with friends and family.
Per Barbara’s wishes, she will be cremated and a private ceremony will follow in the coming weeks.
