Barbara J. Dunn

Barbara J. Dunn, age 76, of Westwood, MA, passed away peacefully at home on October 30, 2023, after a lengthy battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Beloved wife of Roger Dunn, devoted mother of Carolyn Scully and her husband Timothy of Merrimack, NH and Katie Dunn of Braintree.  Proud grandmother to Caila and Brendan Scully. Barbara was predeceased by her father and mother Harvey and Mary Daigneault, her brother Paul Daigneault and her sister Christine Griffin.

Barbara was born and raised in Jamaica Plain and graduated from St. Thomas High School (’65) and Boston Business School (’67) before starting work for Boston Edison. After the birth of her first child Barbara chose to stay at home to raise her family.  Her greatest joy and memories are all the trips and cruises she took with her children and grandchildren over the many years. Barbara is remembered by many because of her work at Doyle’s Café in Jamaica Plain, and her 43 years of working at the Olde Colonial Café in Norwood. She will always be remembered for her infectious smile and her warm and friendly demeanor to everyone she met.

The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to Dr. Christopher Manz, Megan Leahy PA-C and all the remarkable nurses and staff who cared for her at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours at Holden, Dunn & Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock Street Westwood on Tuesday Nov. 7^th from 4-7 pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at the Funeral Home on Wednesday Nov. 8^th at 11am.
