Barbara (Twombly) Beale

May 27, 1918 — February 24, 2009

BEALE – Barbara (Twombly), of Walpole, formerly of Westwood, died Feb. 24th. Beloved wife for 68 years to Allan S. Beale. Loving mother of Elizabeth Clifford and her husband Robert of Hingham, Nancy Sisson and her husband William of Atlanta GA and the late Richard Beale. Sister of the late Nancy Quinn. Mother-in-law of James Bross of Atlanta GA. Devoted grandmother of Andrea, Joanna, Jennifer, Jack, Liesl, Katharine and Benjamin. Also survived by 8 great grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St. (off Route 109) Westwood on Friday Feb. 27th from 4-7pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Timothy’s Church, Norwood on Saturday morning Feb. 28th at 10am. Interment at New Westwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to Fr. Bill’s Place, 38 Broad St., Quincy, MA 02169.

Barbara was a volunteer at Norwood Hospital; the Westwood VNA Board; “Glad Rags” Thrift Shop and Girl Scouts of America. She was an American Field Service host parent and an International Student Association host. Barbara was the Archivist for the Westwood Historical Society. She was a member of the Westwood Women’s Club, the Westwood Garden Club, St. Margaret Mary Sodality, the Westwood Interfaith Council, the Christian Family Movement, a Substitute Teacher at Westwood High School and a part time Librarian at the Westwood Public Library.
