Anna Lena (Niman) Runci, of Walpole, MA, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026 at Sunrise Senior Living.
Born on June 4, 1945, in Waterbury, CT, Anna was the beloved daughter of Carmen and Lena Niman. She is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Robert Runci, who cared for her with unwavering love and dedication.
Anna served the Westwood Public School system for more than 30 years, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students.
Anna is also survived by her brother Michael Niman of Wilmington, DE; her sisters, Rebecca Niman (predeceased) of Waterbury, Connecticut, Jo-Ann & Roger Jeanfavre of Torrington, CT and Darlene Niman of New York City, NY; and her brother Mark Niman of Waterbury, CT. Anna is lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews throughout Connecticut.
Anna lived a life filled with simple joys and meaningful moments. She especially loved walking, swimming, baking, and traveling the world—activities that brought her great happiness and allowed her to connect with the people she cherished.
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend Visiting Hours on Thursday, February 19th, from 4–7 PM, at Holden, Dunn & Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock Street, Westwood, MA.
Anna’s ashes will be laid to rest in the early spring.
