CLOHERTY - Ann M. (O'Connell) of Westwood and Popponesset, died peacefully July 18, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of John P. Cloherty for 53 years. Loving mother of Maryann Cloherty Casavant and her husband David of Westwood, Joan Cloherty Hillmer and her husband Neil of Wellesley, Daniel Cloherty and his wife Monica of Wellesley, Thomas Cloherty and his wife Victoria Arthur of Arlington, and Anne Cloherty Fortune and her husband Timothy of Westwood. Loving grandmother of Christine, Elizabeth, Daniel, and Patrick Casavant; John, Thomas, Ryan, and Catherine Hillmer; Sophia and John (Jack) Cloherty; Eva, Jane and Peter Cloherty; and Nora, Sheila and James Fortune.

Ann was the daughter of the late Ann (Ryan) and Daniel O'Connell of County Cork, Ireland and Roslindale. Sister of Timothy (Barry) O'Connell and his wife Ellen of Norton. Dear cousin of James O'Leary of West Roxbury.

A graduate of Cardinal Cushing College, Ann enjoyed her years of teaching, especially at St. Mary of the Hills in Milton. Ann had no greater pleasure in life than the company of her loving husband, devoted family, and precious grandchildren. She enjoyed many years of happiness surrounded by her wide circle of friends in Westwood and in Popponesset.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Holden, Dunn, and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock Street (off Route 109) WESTWOOD on Thursday, July 23rd from 4-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Denis Church, 157 Washington Street, Westwood at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 24th. Interment at Mount Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann's memory to My Brother's Keeper, P.O. Box 338, Easton, MA 02356.
